Step-by-step instructions
for sample collection, packaging, and shipping to ensure sample integrity
Step 1: Sample Collection
- ✓ Blood: Collect 10mL in EDTA (purple-top) tube. Do not freeze.
- ✓ FFPE Tissue: Minimum 5 unstained slides (5-10 microns) or 1 tissue block
- ✓ Plasma: Collect within 4 hours of blood draw, freeze immediately at -80°C
- ✓ Bone Marrow: 2-5mL in EDTA tube
Step 2: Patient & Sample Labeling
- ✓ Label all samples with patient name, DOB, and collection date
- ✓ Complete requisition form (download from our website or use online form)
- ✓ Include clinician contact information and clinical details
Step 3: Packaging
- ✓ Place sample tubes/slides in sealed plastic bag
- ✓ Wrap in absorbent material
- ✓ For frozen samples: Use dry ice, ensure UN3373 Biological Substance Category B labeling
- ✓ Include completed requisition form in separate sealed pouch
Step 4: Shipping
- ✓ Ship Monday-Thursday for weekday delivery
- ✓ Use overnight courier service (DHL, FedEx, Blue Dart)
- ✓ Ship to: VedaRx Healthcare Genomics Laboratory, Mumbai (Full address
provided upon test order)
